I guess the heading says it all. While I have read writings of Mrs. Clinton as well as Margaret Thatcher, the difference in both personalities and writing talent for retained value is like night and day.
The most compelling words I read in Margaret Thatcher’s speech was: “Without law, without the institutions of civil society, without religion, without the values that promote rather than discourage self-restraint, that darker side will prevail. Half the countries claim to be democratic, but being democratic is not enough, for a majority cannot turn what is wrong into right. In order to be considered truly free, countries must also have a deep love of liberty and an abiding respect for the rule of law.
“The history of mankind reveals that progress is not preordained. So far, it is only free nations that have discovered the secret of continual advancement. Why? Because they are the only ones to subscribe to Western values, to respect private property, to develop a reliable rule of law, and to create political order in which competing views and interests are peacefully and productively reconciled.”
I do believe Hillary Clinton is laying the groundwork for a presidential run. She has been hailed by admirers who seem willing to overlook many of her shortcomings. Whereas Margaret Thatcher was a leader of a great nation and guided her through perilous times, Hillary failed to excite me in like fashion and performed using her State job toward a personal end to have my confidence. Her talk reminds me of THE FIVE — commentary that lacks substance and just put out there for show when we need leaders who have deep insight into the problems of all the todays and tomorrows. She has too much baggage, leaving a host of problems for Secretary Kerry to tackle. It seems to me the people of America need to have the truth told as to just what her credentials are for the highest office in the Land, other than all this hype that she is the smartest woman in the world. I guess to Bill, she probably is. Then, again, one might ask what is the meaning of the word is?
I hope that truth, honor, integrity and justice prevails in the coming days. Do you, my readers?
